Strix Aluco (Tawny owl)
The Tawny Owl (Strix Aluco) is perhaps the most famous among the medium-sized owls. The origin is Europe, especially northern Scandinavia. The Tawny Owl is 35-40 cm. tall and has a wingspan of 81-105 cm. The weight hangs between 385-800 grams. The Tawny Owl nests in March, lays 1-7 eggs and incubates these, the natural way in 28 days.
